Monk Coniston Hall, cottages and counting house lay nestled in the Lake District National Park but now owned by National Trust.

The house dates back to the 16th century and was owned by the monks of Furness Abbey and later it became the home to Beatrix Potter.

Today, Monk Coniston combines grandeur and romantic gothic style charm with contemporary touches with an impressive minstrel gallery and meandering corridors.

The house has stunning views across to Coniston Water, a Victorian walled garden, ancient woodland with beautiful gardens and woodland walks.

The Plot

Its late October and there is a definite chill in the air; a kind of chill that penetrates deep into the soul and makes you think something really bad is about to happen!

But little do you know… that I am lurking in the shadows….watching all of you arriving….laughing, joking, thinking you are all clever and that you can solve any crime. Well, let me tell you something…you won’t catch me, because i am somebody who’s afraid of nothing, somebody who is not afraid of murder…… because I have waited for this moment for a very long time.
